Centennial Park Wednesday, May 1, 2024

Our third and final district Cross Country meet will be tomorrow at Centennial Park. Not only have all the runners performed well this season, but the coaches have received numerous compliments on Keating students’ attitudes and behaviour at the last 2 meets. Marshals and staff from multiple schools have approached the Keating coaches to tell them that Keating students stand out for their display of gratitude, respect and appreciation. Well done Keating Cougars!! You make us proud!!

Once again, due to construction around the park, it is highly recommended that you carpool if possible, and please be prepared to park a few blocks away and walk or jog to the park with your runner. A reminder to children to use the bathrooms before leaving the school as the washroom facilities at the park are limited. Also please ensure your child has a jacket and a water bottle (labeled with their name) for after the race. 

At the park, we will meet in front of the Keating sign to do our team warm-up. The first race will begin once the supervisors/marshals are in place, at approximately 3:30. This week, our Grade 5s will begin, followed by our Grade 3s and then Grade 4s. A reminder that parents are responsible for supervision of children prior to and after their race, as school staff will be busy supervising runners along the route. 

Once your child has finished their race, please remind them to stretch and to put their Keating jersey in the bin provided.
