Cross Country Meet #2

Centennial Park

Our second district Cross Country meet will be on Wednesday at Centennial Park. Due to construction around the park, it is highly recommended that you carpool if possible, and please be prepared to park a few blocks away and walk or jog to the park with your runner.

A reminder to children to use the bathrooms before leaving the school as the washroom facilities at the park are limited. Also please ensure your child has a jacket and a water bottle (labeled with their name) for after the race. 

At the park, we will meet in front of the Keating sign to do our team warm-up. The first race will begin once the supervisors/marshalls are in place, at approximately 3:30. This week, our Grade 4s will begin, followed by our Grade 5s and then Grade 3s. A reminder that parents are responsible for supervision of children prior to and after their race, as school staff will be busy supervising runners along the route. 

Once your child has finished their race, please remind them to stretch and to put their Keating jersey in the bin provided so that they can be washed for the following week.

This week, Keating is one of the 3 host schools. This means that we are expected to provide at least 15 adult volunteers to supervise/marshal along the route. If you are able to help with this, please let Nayda Thomasson know at nthomasson@saanichschools.ca.
